I want to be a more responsible developer—a more responsible person in general. But I'm no expert in these matters, so who am I to talk about this stuff? Well, I have a wish and I'm going to try. And that's all we need, I think.

Minification is a technique we can use to reduce the size of data stored on disk or sent over the network. What you mightn't know is it's actually possible to easily, and safely, minify HTML using only vanilla PHP.

To my mind, "minimal" means "only what's needed" or "enough". "Enough" is not an objective quantity, though, so how can the feature-set of a minimal blogging platform be determined? I devised three basic guiding principles to keep in mind.

Apparently the trend is still to keep adding more, but I think we're going to have to move in the opposite direction if we want a brighter future.
